i do not want to give her anything impersonal like money or a gift card. that shows you dont know what she like. just give me some ideas.aneta, she doesnt like webkinz cause it's nmot the "craze" now as much so its embarrassing for her to admit that she really likes them, idk she likes em but is embarrassed. i know she wants the dragon webkinz, but i dont wanna embarras her in front of her friends when she opens it. and money is too impersonal.

Maybe an i-pod off of Ebay. I got one for $10 plus shipping. it was brand new, works great and of course...cheap. lol.Maybe something like a peice of jewlery. i know when i was 10.5 i always wanted pretty earings. LOL. if she isn't the jewlery type asking never hurts. I know u want something that makes her think that u know what she likes, but getting something that she doesn't appreciate is 10x worse.

She's probably about a sixth grader, so how about an art pad and paints or a drawing type set with markers, colored pencils and paints. They come in really nice boxes. You could also pay for art lessons. If she likes to read a series that is very popular now is Twilight, New Moon, etc. by Stephanie Meyers I think. It centers on lead characters who are vampires but is all the rage with middle school/high school girls. Warriors is another series about cats. A gift certificate to a book store might be really loved (even though not your first choice-my daughter asks for this every year), then she can choose her own books, but you acknowledge that passion. If she likes horses, how about horse back riding lessons, or even a summer camp at a place where they do cool things like hike, swim, archery, crafts, horseback riding, etc. My mom sent my daughter to a fabulous camp several years in a row and my daughter always enjoyed it. Swimming lessons is another good choice.Another thing you could do if you live near an amusement park is buy her a ticket to an amusement park. If not a ticket to a play or go see a movie with her in the cinema. Or take her to a museum, or a weekend at a beach, or a waterpark. You could take her out to eat at a nice restaurant. Sometimes "experience" gifts are something that you remember far longer and appreciate more than just "stuff you buy and soon forget about" gifts. The sixth graders I teach love hoodies. They all seem to want to wear them. You could get her one of these in her favorite color. They are also starting to notice boys, so something like lip gloss, a really pretty diary or journal might be nice. Another thing that this age group likes is technology like Nintendo DS, digital cameras, cell phones, iPods, etc. So you could either buy something like this or an accoutrement to something she already has: a new game, a ringtone gift card, an iTunes gift card or an album of a singer she really likes, that she can put onto her iPod. My daughter loves Japanese manga (books like comic books) and anime (films). They have some Japanese shops at a local mall where she and her friends like to buy things like posters, bamboo, or even plants arranged in that miniature way. You could also buy her something for her room like a bean bag or a pillow for her bed or a picture or a full length mirror. Or if it is an older color, offer to repaint it for her in a new more tweenage friendly color. Board games, puzzles, magazine subscriptions, Netflix subscription.Anyway, think about what she does like, or like to do, and try to foster that. Hope this gives you some ideas in a variety of price ranges.

If you're sticking with toys you could probably get away with something trendy along the lines of High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers type merchandise and believe me there is A LOT of it.Small personal electronics are a good choice as well I'd suggest a small MP3 player or an electronic plug and play game (no console required) like Dream Life or Designers World. Since it's almost summer something for outdoors to promote physical activities is a good choice. Perhaps a scooter or a skateboard (dpn't forget a helmet) would make a great gift for this girl. Or something every girl should have, a journal. A place of her own to keep all of her private thoughts and feelings.I would not suggest clothing because unless you know her well (are a close relative or family friend) sizing and style maybe a difficult decision, one that is best left up to the tween-ager herself.Good luck.

They say a picture is worth a million words! So, if you know some of her hobbies or passions you could surprise her with a nice little portrait made from a photo depicting exactly what or whom she likes. This can be done at http://www.paintyourlife.com for a reasonable fee and according to your specifications! They also make wonderful photo prints on canvas in various designs. Check it out at http://www.photo-print-on-canvas.com
