| I'm at a loss. I've been dating this guy for a few months now and I'm meeting his mom later today for the first time. Usually I would bring a nice bottle of wine or something but she is a recovering alcoholic so that's out. I was thinking a nice bunch of gerbera daisies and some cookies? We're staying at their vacation place all holiday weekend and she already has tons of candles and such. She likes garden things (windchimes and lawn decorations) but I think that would be weird as a "meet the parent" gift.Ideas?Edit: Someone asked about age--I'm 23... |

| No idea, but someday I'll have to meet the parents too, I'll keep an eye on the question. I would guess something thoughtful, but not overly dramatic...a small, simple set of wind chimes might do it since you said she likes them. |

| I would just go with chocolates or cookies. Not the cheap kind..i dont mean like oreos, something classy but not superrr elegant. Why dont you ask your boyfriend what he thinks is best? |

| Why not? If she likes those kind of things than she's going to like you even more. Just get to know her even more she's a human being just like you. You need to be in her shoes if someone brought you something you really like would you appreciate it or would you think this person being strange. Don't worry about it. Go ahead, and give her seeds, or a plant that she can have in the house as well. Their's nothing wrong with plants. |

| I think you should get her a nice bunch of daisies or roses. White roses would look the prettiest, as red roses is a romantic gift. Also, I do know you can get differnent colour roses like yellow and pink as well, so maybe you can get a mixed bunch? Also, a small box of expensive chocolates, doesn't have to be that expensive though, say $20 dollars. Or, go to a place where you can pick a mix of chocolates. Also, ask your boyfriend what she may like. |
