|
|
| I am having a 2nd baby and was wondering if it is appropriate to register for gifts with a 2nd? There are a few things I need and I will not be having a shower since I live overseas (my Mother would bring the gifts when she comes in September). I was thinking to send it just to realtives and close friends, thats all. |

| I'M PREGNANT WITH MY SECOND CHILD AND I DID A GIFT REGISTRY. I DONT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT.HOWEVER I WOULDNT ACTUALLY SEND IT TO FRIENDS AND RELATIVES. I WOULD THINK IT WOULD BE BETTER TO JUST LET THEM KNOW WHERE YOUR REGISTERED AT. THAT WAY THEY DONT FEEL LIKE YOUR PUSHING THEM TO BUY YOU SOMETHING |

| I didn't have a registry with my 2nd child. I think there was some rule written somewhere that you only have one with your first. But you may as well try. |

| I don't think you really need a baby registry... I'm sure people are looking for gifts to get you anyway, by telling them frankly what you need, you're actually saving them time and trouble.I'm also pregnant with my 2nd baby, and when I was at Baby R Us last time, a staff saw my bump and asked if I know about their baby registry. When I told her that this is my second baby, she stopped and backed off. I guess the norm is probably that people reuse a lot of the things from their previous pregnancy such that another baby registry for consecutive pregnancies is not as common. |

| I only have my first child, but as I am planning to have another, I have saved all the clothes I used for my son. I think I will still have a gift registry with my second. I think a good idea would be to have a 'diaper shower' or a 'meet the baby' party. It probably would be a good idea to have a gift registry, especially if your second child is a boy (if you already have a girl) or vice versa. |

| I had one with my oldest and since I ended up having a second boy I didn't feel it was necessary to register with my second. I did receive a few gifts from friends and family but with my second one when people would ask us what we needed I would tell them diapers or formula because those can get really expensive. On one hand I can see having a second one if you have the opposite sex but on the other hand if you are having the same sex then I don't think it is necessary unless you have family that lives all over and that would be their way of buying something for the baby and shipping it to you then I see no problem with that. I would just let them know where you are registered and then let them decide what they want to do for you. Good luck and congratulations |
