I'm attending a picnic this weekend. I went to school with this girl and I'm going to her house. A good number of her extended family, and some neighbors and family friends, will be in attendance. I'm just wondering if I should bring anything as a token of thanks for the invite. I'm friendly with the parents. Don't want to make them feel awkward with wine or anything at a family event, haha, but want to be classier than making an onion dip!

Your best bet would be to call and say that you would like to bring something and ask what is needed. Some people may not be happy with wine, but some may love it. It depends on the crowd and you never know if there's someone in AA attending Smile

Wine or flowers are pretty much universally welcomed.

What about taking a basket of fruit or a vegetable tray that the guests could have and maybe flowers or a plant for the hosts.

I agree with the flowers. Can't go wrong with that, and she'll still have them around the house to enjoy once the party is over.
