Are you really a rational person if you ask facile and inane questions? My apologies for being blunt but your question deserves no better.

Are you really ignorant if you think Christmas is just a Christian holiday? um yeah, you are. Do you think Santa clause and Jesus hang out and drink tea while making toys?Or maybe you think Mary and Joseph planted Christmas trees in the desert? Oh and let me guess....When Jesus was ressurected he dyed eggs and handed out chocolate right? Idiot.

This is just like that time at Bible Camp where Jesus invented Christmas Trees!Oh, wait... that wasn't him. Now, what kind of cakes are you serving with your whine? (Little Wiccan joke in there, just for my Wiccan friends. Hail Eris!)

Accepting a xmas gift has nothing to do with being an atheist or not. Atheism is a lack of belief in a supernatural deity. There is nothing in there about accepting a gift that is given to celebrate the fictional story of Jesus. It's a ridiculous and immature idea to think that atheists can't accept xmas gifts, but that's what christian cult members are.

My family celebrates Christmas as a secular holiday. And, the great thing about being an atheist is that I don't have any beliefs about god. I lack beliefs. There's nothing to compromise. Are you really a Christian if you celebrate Christmas? (Since it has pagan roots...)

I'm just following the Pagan side of it same as you. They are nice enough to share. Really if anyone is being hypocritical, it's Christians doing all the Yule things. It must really suck to be stuck with stupid rules like that. We don't have to worry about being hypocrites because we aren't saying that any such rule ought to exist.

Christmas has become just as much of a cultural thing as a religious one, so I'd say they can still celebrate it

First, you don't have to believe and follow the bible to accept and give gifts and celebrate Xmas.Second, Christmas and its traditions have pagan roots.

Do you have to be Irish to drink green beer? Most customs of Christmas don't derive from Christianity. So I'll let you put lights on a dead tree if you let me accept gifts.

Christmas began as a pagan festival. It was then used by the Church to entice pagans to turn towards Christianity. I rather enjoy xmas. I love getting gifts! Very Happy

Last time I checked, Saturnalia was NOT a Christian festivity....You guys plagiarized it....Don't you get tired of having your lack of reasoning constantly exposed in R&S?

Are you really a Christian if you get an education?Aren't you slapping god upside the head by seeking knowledge he didn't see fit to birth you with?Or do you reject God and move out of the caves?
