I ask just because my soon to be husband it trying to get me to look and see what we have got. But I don't want to I want it to be a surprise. What did you do or do you think you will look befor hand?I am not the jerk you are I never said I was getting married to get presents where you got that from I don't know. I could care less if I got anything at all I did not want to have a wedding at all just because I know how people get cared away with eveything and forget that it is about being in love with your partner. So there for I am not the greedy one at all maybe you are and was feeling bad about being that way and had to take it out on me that is to bad for you!

I totally did! I am horrible with surprises, I always have to find out everything...it drives my husband nuts! But I checked our wedding registry sites at least once a week:) It is still exciting, and trust me, you will still get lots of surprises!! (we got 4 crock pots, and enough towels to last for 5 years!) And we're not materialistic or greedy, it's just part of the fun.

LB - That was entirely uncalled for and I hope you learn some manners. To answer your question, while it is nice to be surprised, sometimes looking pays off. It gives you a sense of what you will still need after the wedding. Its not as if your entire registry will be bought. This leaves you needing to purchase many items on your own. Try your best to resist the urge to look for now, but perhaps in the weeks before the wedding take a look at whats left so you can get a grasp on how much you need to budget to purchase for yourself. Look at it this way, when you at least have an idea of what you will need to buy, you can always remove some of the items that you receive for your wedding that you thought you were going to have to buy yourself and you will still have money left over in the budget that you set to buy these items for your home.

My shower isn't until July but I have looked just because I know things get discontinued. Stuff has been bought off one of my registries, almost all of it actually but that is just my Mom going a bit crazy. I actually don't want to know because I like surprises so I may have my sister start checking for me when the time gets closer so things can be updated as needed. So yes I have looked but when the time nears I won't.

Try not looking, that way you asre surprised. If he wants to look, fine! just tell him to keep it a secret. You;'ll find out soon enough. Plus if you look its not going to change what you get!
