| Honestly, do you have to pair it with food? I mean if you would like to simply do the wine justice and taste it, do just that. Maybe a little cheese and crackers, fruit, chocolate...?The next glass, serve with a meal.Chateau Talbot is excellent with lamb, duck, pork and meat dishes.1986Chateau Talbot (St Julien) 1986: Surprisingly a tawny rim - this is a relatively youthful wine. The nose has classic rich ink and liquorice. Smooth palate, good tannins, acidity good, well balanced, nice fruit. Smoky notes give some complexity. Finishes smoothly. Good length. 17+/20 (May 2000) |

| Talbot is one of the worlds great wine.It is a Bordeaux red, a blend of around 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet FrancIts quality was recognized in the famous classification of 1865 when it was made 4th Grand Cru Classé.Your bottle is worth around $200You should enjoy it over a meal with friends who will appreciate a great wine. This is a food wine, but the meal should be simple so as not to overpower this 22 year old wine. Myself, I'd go for a simple roasted chicken or beef.Please understand that this as an old elegant wine; its not a Yellow Tail, the fruit will be restrained, it will taste old, ifyou are not used to old clarets you maybe disappointed at first.Take itslowly, use a generous size glass and dont fill to bring -- enjoy its smell, savor it keepit in the mouth, enjoy.You asked for food,bottom line - the wine is the star, let it shine with simple plain food.*You are very lucky.
