| Chateauneuf-du-Pape. An excellent, rich, full bodied red wine. A decent Chianti or Rioja too. I'd stay away from Merlot as it's fairly common and is usually used as a house red in pubs and bars. If you know your dad's favourite meat dishes then use that as a guide to get a recommendation from a decent wine shop. |
