| I do not see the child often. Only once or twice previously. The mom is a close friend of mine who I am flying into town to see. I'd prefer not to just get a gift certificate. What's appropriate? Is there a popular type of gift? Should I just choose a gift and then provide a gift receipt? |

(A toy that is appropriate for their age 9 months) Is there a popular type of gift? The popular type of gift now is a push and ride toy, summer is around the corner)Should I just choose a gift and then provide a gift receipt? (yes always provide a gift receipt, you always got to assume they might take it back for some reason. |

Your best bet is to check out a local toy store and find a toy that is age-appropriate. |

| A good thing for this age is a push and ride toy. This is good because the push part helps with walking and then when he is walking, he can start riding it. We found one for my daughter at a rummage sale and she loved it. She used it for almost 18 months until it finally broke. The ride part just uses leg muscles to move and then in the back, there is a thing they can hold onto and push it and this helps with walking, especially at that cruising age. |

| If he is only 9 months old, clothes or little toys would be a perfectly acceptable gift. Check out the clothing at Baby R Us and Gymboree. As for toys, keep in mind that he is only 9 months and will probably not be able to use a bike, or anything that has to be manuelly operated. |

| I bet the best keepsake you can give that baby is a handmade portrait or painting made from one of his most cute photos. Just send the photo(s) to the guys at http://www.paintyourlife.com and they will create wonders out of that innocent looking photo. You will definitely like it, and so will everyone who sees it. The service is fast and fairly priced. Take a look and judge for yourself! The same company also makes wonderful photo prints on canvas in various designs.
