I need to think of something special for my nephew. He's turning one and doesn't really NEED anything...I'm just trying to think of something original. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

just get him an outfit. he will NEVER know or care who got him what. at least if it's clothes, his parents will be grateful.

I have two ideas, both of which I have used in the past and gotten rave reviews from the parents. The first is a zoo membership - most public zoos will allow you to purchase a gift membership for a year that will allow the child and their parents to visit free of charge. This can be pricey but it depends on the area and the zoo.The second is a subscription to BabyBug magazine. This a little magazine (in more of a little board book form) that is geared to kids ages 6mos - 2 yrs. It has simple stories and pictures and is sturdy enough that the child can't rip it right apart. Plus the kids I've given to love that they get something in the mail! This is $29.95 for a year's subscription. The website is http://www.cricketmag.com/ and BabyBug is under Kids 6mth-3yrs.

I bet the best keepsake you can give your nephew is a handmade portrait or painting made from one of his most cute photos. Just send the photo(s) to the guys at http://www.paintyourlife.com and they will create wonders out of that innocent looking photo. You will definitely like it, and so will everyone who sees it. The service is fast and fairly priced. Take a look and judge for yourself! The same company also makes wonderful photo prints on canvas in various designs. Visit http://www.photo-print-on-canvas.com
