|
|
| My boyfriend is going to be backpacking across China during his birthday. I need to get him something but I want it to be small and light enough so that he can carry it around and actually open it on his birthday. Also, I want it to be something sentimental and sweet....I just have no ideas. |

| You could make a card and put a picture of yourself in it. I think he'd like that. |

| How about a really nice set of folding chopsticks? They usually unscrew into two (4 for the pair) pieces so they are not as long. You could even maybe go somewhere and get them engraved or something. Often in China you look at the ones provided and they are dirty looking or you have to swish or pour hot tea on then to "sanitize" them. Questionable at best... Sometimes parts of China are REALLY dirty and even in big cities foreigners are sometimes told to carry their own...It would be nice too because every time he eats he would see them and think of you...Small light weight and useful plus it will help keep him safe and healthy. Can be as sentimental or romantic as you make them based on what you put on them or what you say when you give them to him.I know I would love that as a gift.I've seen VERY nice ones IN China but not too sure about where to get them State side. Internet??? Maybe could even just get them made if you get creative on where to go for that. (just noticed yr name... You might be IN Asia and it would be much easier to get)You don't even need to have them be folding really as they are so small anyway.Does he have an I-pod? You could record your own messages and rip to mp3 then put them on his I-pod in a playlist named for you... If its a newer model you could attach pictures too. Then he could always listen to your voice while hes away. Even if he cant talk to you. You can look up how people make pod casts to see how to do it. Or you could date them in the names and tell him only listen to each one on the day its named... Or just write a series of letters, seal and date them... |

| Whenever I don’t know what exactly to get someone, I send special digital photo (landscape, my friend portrait…or something like that) to http://www.photoartomation.com/ArtWork/birthday.htm and they convert my photo to ART. Photo alteration is offered in a variety of media and sizes. They do a really good job. You can add text such as a personal message or poem on top of the image They are also have affordable prices, and you can instruct them to send the artwork directly to the person you want! It's a great site to create a really personalized photoart gift for someone special in your life! |

| Give him something he can keep forever. You could make a small photo book of the two of you. You could also write down your favorite memories of your relationship in a nice book. Then you could even attach one or both of these to a stuffed animal. |

| I think a really killer gift would be one of those new digi picture frames. The ones where you upload pictures onto it. But get the one that plays music and upload his favorite song onto it and a bunch of pictures of the two of you...hope that helped <3 |
