Graduation party at my cousin's house. Her son graduated 8th grade. I haven't seen them in a long while. But plan to go. Is $25 enough?

If 50 is too much, I would anywhere from 30 - 40 dollars. That should be good, to buy some new stuff, although I'm sure he would appreciate 25 dollars, it just doesnt seem enough for a grade 8 graduation. I had mine the other night, and its a very special moment.

8th grade graduation GIFT?!?Why does every occasion these days have the expectation of a gift, especially for you since you haven't even seen this person in a long time. Buy a card and promise to spend more quality time with the kid. Too many kids are expecting presents over every little achievement these days. Spend some time with him. It's better than a present in all respects.Take a look at some of the responses from 8th graders. Some of them are raised to believe that not only should they expect a present, but you should spend more. The "gimmie" attitude is disrespectful and completely without class. It's clear some influential adults need to spend some more time with them.
