|
|
| It is actually grandfather of the bride. My grandfather who I am very close to is giving me away on my wedding day and I want to get him something really nice but I am on a tight budget. He doesn't drink, smoke and can't do anything too active. Any ideas? |

| Get him an (engraved?) picture frame with a picture of the two of you in it. Maybe a double sided one, with a picture of the two of you when you were little, and leave the other side open so you can give him a picture of the two of you on your wedding day. My grandpa adores a picture that I gave him a few years ago. He keeps it by his bed. Hope this helps! |

| A photo album filled with pictures of you and him from the time you were a baby, right up until the present. I gave my grandma a photo album like that once for her birthday, and it was her most treasured possession up until she passed away. She used to show it to every person who came into her room at her nursing home. I think it would be a meaningful way to show your grandpa how much it means to you that he's been in your heart every day since you were born. |

| kmoore and kate both gave good ideas. Since it is such a meaningful day and he obviously means a lot to you since he is giving you away, try and give him something from the heart. Something from the heart don't have to be expensive. kmoore mentioned a picture. If you and him have something special that you have done, use a picture of it. And off of what kate said: a note could mean more to him than any gift in the world if you have something special to say from the heart. For an example: My grandfather and I were very, very close. He didn't smoke or drink either. Growing up he always called me "Becki Boo". I went to a 2nd hand store (I think I went to 5 before I found one at a good price) and bought a used pocket watch. When you opened it you had the clock on one side and I put a picture of me (from my engagement photos but I had to get a small one done) on the other side. On the back I had it engraved "I will always be your boo". The watch cost me $15 and the engraving cost $7. |

| I like the photo album idea above me. You could even go to a jewelry store and get one of the engravable photo albums they have. Make sure it has a spot for a photo the front. |
