| i was recently given a gift for graduation. (it was an ipod) It does not turn on and does not respond to a charger or being charged by a computer. It was purchased at best buy but i am unable to get the reciept from the giver. Can i turn it in and just exchange it for a new one? |

| It depends on the policy of Best Buy. Some stores will honor a refund or exchange without a receipt if it was a gift, but are more inclined to give you a credit on a new purchase. If there is some way they can identify the item as being theirs, such as a bar code or catalog number, etc., they will usually be more apt to refund or exchange something that's defective, since they will simply return it to the manufacturer and will not be out any money. Talk to the sales staff or manager of the store. If possible, have the giver accompany you. Possibly, they can recognize that person as the original purchaser. Good luck! |
