Don't people say it's the thought that counts? Screw that....I need gifts that require more thought than a tent. I am with you girl.

You have a right to be upset. He bought you what he wanted.

Did you do anything with the tent. Maybe he wants to go camping or wants to be in a tent with you. Think outside the box, maybe he was waiting for you to think of some thing to. Guys are sometimes clueless no matter how long you have been together, you have to help him out a little from time to time.-C

I would be honest and say : Thanks for the gift, that was thoughfull, but do you think that next time you could get me something a little more romantic. Other then that, I think what he did was fine. Some people are lucky to get just dinner Good luck! |

It sounds a bit unthoughtful however I would try and make the best out of it. I would plan to camp with him and show him what a good tent it really is. Focus on the dinner part and you never know, you may make some great "memories" in that tent

OK..let's try to give him the benefit of the doubt here and put a positive spin on it for you (or at least get you to smile!)The traditional gift for a fifth anniversary is wood. Where does wood come from? Yes, trees! Where do you find trees? Correct again...in the forest! What's a fun thing to do in the forrest? YAY! Camping! and what does one need to go camping? Right! A tent!!! OK..phew..looks like he might be out of the doghouse at least a little, right? LOLBe happy he bought anything..I've never had an anniversary present..only a nice dinner planned on our first anniversary. Our 10th is in February.Hope that helped!
