Register away, a wedding registry is nothing more than a wish list in the first place. No on is obliged to buy anything thats on the list A computer is a little out of the ordinary but hey, a close relative or group of people might chip in and get it for you. All you can do is ask.

It's not wrong per se, but that's a pretty insanely expensive gift that only your family might want to get for you. It might be perceived as arrogant if you put that on your list.

I think it's fine to register for it -- register for whatever you want, it's your registry and that doesn't mean people have to buy it! You never know, people might decide to chip in together and actually get it for you, or maybe you know a big-spender! : ) Just be sure to include other, much lower cost items on that registry as well so that you don't look greedy. Give all of your guests a wide price range to choose from.

You can register for whatever you want, it doesn't mean you will actually GET those items. My cousin and his wife had odd things on their registry, like DVD's, garden hoses, and other odds and ends things instead of registering for the really important household items they needed like pots and pans. Needless to say, they didn't get much of what they asked for.

I dont think so. One wedding I was invited to recently had some high-priced furniture on their registry, which someone did buy for them. Just make sure you also have lower-priced items on the registry, so you cover all price ranges.

No, but its not right if they expect to get everything. You always do a range of gifts, some family will buy things like that! And a computer is an important tool!
