I hosted the baby showers for both my sister and sister in law. In both cases their werent any children at the showers, but for the adults we played alot of games and had baby related prizes (novelty dummies, booties etc). The games were all baby related- there are alot of suggestions (for free) if you just google search "baby shower". The games certainly relaxed everyone and the advice and stories just rolled on. I also brought a autograph book and passed it around where the other ladies wrote advice for the mum to be and gave name suggestions as well as having a guess about the weight, length, sex and date of arrival. If the sex is unknown why not get all the guests to state what they think the mum is having- wear pink for girl and blue for a boy. There is a lot of fun things to do and lot of helpful websites with alot of suggestions. Good luck

it depends on your budget and what you are willing to do. you can invite kids or not. you can give out party favors or not. you can hire clowns and have fireworks or not. you can have something simple and casual or you can have something fancy and expensive.get a list of people to invite from the mom-to-be. the number of people she can put on the list will depend on your budget. if she's registered somewhere, you can put that info on the shower invitation. if you choose not to put it on the invitation, make sure you know where she's registered so that you can tell the guests if they ask.if the party is during a meal time, plan on serving real food (hot dogs or sandwiches for a casual party. you could even have pizza delivered). if it's midmorning or midafternoon, you can just serve cake and snacks like chips or veggies and dip. make sure you have something without caffeine, alcohol, or artificial sweeteners for the mom to drink. ice cream punch is great for baby showers.people will show up, eat some snacks, play some party games (or not), eat cake, and watch the mom open presents.

You don't need to make "goodie" bags for the guests, but 9 times out of 10 the host will give the guests favors since they brought a gift for a baby. There are really cute favors at: www.babyshower.ecrater.com if you need ideas!
