Get 18 of the Gold Sacajawea $1 coins and make a necklace out of them, I did this for a friend turning 18 and it was the most unique gift at the party.

There is a craft store here (michaels I think the name is), where all sorts of ideas pop into the mind as for gifts.I personally think if into music (like we are), I took a collectible Beatles vinyl album and made it into a clock that we use everyday! Very easy to do, though the vinyl is now ruined and I would never put it on my player.....Make sure your friend likes such things. Hand made things are coming back in style, though there are many who feel if money is not spent on something everyone else has then it is not something they want.I personally love hand made things!! Have fun!

The candle is a great idea! Also jewelry with natural stones...examples- Rose Quartz-4 the heart, Amethyst for the spirituality etc. A collage/photo album with all the great pictures of the 2 of you & your life together/adventures. Good Luck with making this gift. Honestly, I much prefer a homemade gift. Something from your heart!PEACE

1. Try making a Scrapbook of some pictures you might have. Picture albums are not expensive and u can always use clipings from magazines.2. Put a gift basket togheter of things that they might use or like.

How about 18 small wrapped gifts, one to open for each of the 17 days before the birthday, then the largest most personal handmade one on THE DAY. You know the friend well, so can really make tiny neat things, a pin, hair accessory, a coin minted in the year they were born, pen in their favorite color, hand made tiny book of memories together, little fake tattoo book, tea or coffee packets, a few gag gifts like old glasses that you tie a tag to saying they are xray vision glasses (paint the frame wild), any tiny trinkets you have that are neato, like gum machine ones, super ball, miniture of something that is a favorite of theirs....it would spread the fun of the birthday out for 18 days. Just a thought!
