Your only 16 once and you have a limited budget, take her to an amusement park, too far, then get a scrape book that you make of her past 16 years. Something to remember for ever. If your not talented with scrapbooking then put it on a dvd disk of Pictures of her in the last 16 years with her favorite music as a background. Not inclined with the computer. How about getting her t-shirt with her favorite saying. What sixteen year old girl likes the most is hanging out with friends so have a surprise party at a local pizza shop or buy Little Ceasers ($5) and some cheap soda and have her friends meet you at the local park to celebrate her, and of course take all those pictures....

Does she like pedicures or manicures? That is a nice gift to receive, especially if it is not something she does for herself on a regular basis. It would make it extra special if you two went together!

If you are close to your sister why don't you make her a scrapbook with photos and messages in it - i got one from my best friends and loved it! It shows you have put a lot of time and effort into it without spending lots and lots of money.

If you are an adult, I would suggest paying for 2 adjoining rooms at a local hotel, one that has a good pool, game room and tell her you will stay in 1 room and she can have the other room to have a handful of friends stay overnight and they can go swimming, play in the game room and order pizza. I think that would be fun. Of coure, your have to stay and watch them everywhere they go but kids do that here and that is fun.

You can personalize a gift from you to her, and it will be something she will treasureI tried to find a special wedding gift for my sisterA friend of mine recommended http://www.photoartomation.com (they converts ordinary photos into art and print them on canvas).I sent them a photo. They made several preview samples for me. All of them were perfect. I chose one of them and order a canvas stretched print. That was awesome! My sis was very, very pleased
