1) A stainless steel convetion oven to replace the 30 year old one that came with the house we bought this fall! I bake a LOT!!2) A new dishwasher to replace the useless one that we don't se as it wreaks my dishes!!3) A new deep freezer to replace the power sucking coffin they left!!!4) Depending on what is left, we will replace flooring or windows as we are also renovating the house. As much as I would like to blow it on a hot winter holiday, we really need good working appliances (the fridge they left already died and we had to scrambe to find something quick) so we don't get left in the lurch when the others blow. We registered for all big things and hope people buy us gift cards to Sears as I have all the conventional wedding things down to lemon zesters and a billion tea towels. Happy wedding to all!!

My fiance and I plan to take any gift money we might get and use it to start a joint savings account. Since we're not planning on merging our finances and are keeping our checking accounts separate, this would be the only account that is "our" money together, which we could then save for things like a down payment on a house, or future kids' expenses, or even fun things like vacations or a boat. I think we'll also skim a TEENSY bit off the top to take with us on our honeymoon, LOL.

We put our money right in the bank. We want to eventually buy a house (we own a condo which is fine for us now but not big enough to start a family in once we decide to have kids) and a new car as mine is on it's way out, so we are saving now as much as we can.

It kinda depends on how much we get. I am not expecting much though. If we get more than we are thinking I would love to put it into the kitchen. (we bought a house 5 years ago) My FH did put in a new floor while I was in the hospital but we still need new cabinets and the walls need to be stripped and painted. IF we get what we are thinking (very little) we will just use that as a little extra on the honeymoon. We are just planning to travel cross country to different states I would like to see. He has seen them all as he drives a truck for our business.

We have lived together for almost 4 years and already have a fully furnished home. We did ask for some things on our bridal registry for our bridal party (like a new knife set and new bedding). We have a few rental properties also and we plan to invest the money that we recieve for our wedding. With the economy the way it is. I would tell you to Save, Save, Save!Good luck!

I was married to a guy who came from a huge family and we both had our own homes prior to gettting married, so we were mostly given money without asking for it. People assumed (correctly) that we didn't need much household items. We opened an account and saved it for the downpayment on a house together.

Well we took some on our honeymoon and the rest we painted several rooms on our home, bought curtains, and several items off our registry we didn't receive that we actually needed!
