| I understand that Jewelery is a common gift to celebrate our 1st baby due in middle of September. Can anyone make a suggestion or recommendation for a gift, maybe in the $500 to $1000 price range, or more if needed. |

| Wow, I wish my husband knew jewelry was customary! I would have loved a mother's or family ring. If you plan to have more children that may be a little premature though. I would suggest a sapphire, as that is September's birthstone. Building on that I would use your wife's preferences... does she like rings, necklaces, earrings? A sizable sapphire pendant with small diamond accents would be elegant, perhaps matching earrings. Or a sapphire pendant accented with her birthstone could be nice. Good Luck and Congrats on being a new dad and a wonderful husband! |

| I would get her a piece of jewelry, because it's something she can wear every day, and someday pass down to the child (if it's a girl). I think jewelry is the best keepsake! |

| I would get her an oval gold locket on a strong gold chain (babies pull!) As soon as you get back the new baby photos - place them in there. On the back you should have engraved something like the baby's birthdate - leave room though - in case you two have another one. |
