My parents are coming up on their 30th anniversary. I've always wanted to give them the wedding they never had (they had to elope in Vegas), but my fiance and I are so broke that we're barely keeping the roof over our heads. Still, they're coming up on their 30th at the end of July and I'd like to do SOMETHING for them. Have you any ideas? I'm very craft and could gather extra hands if needed.

How about a small get together with close friends. You can do the decorations if your crafty. And as a treat everyone can contribute a favorite dish to share with the happy couple. As a gift how about a picture album of their 30 years together. You can include stories, picture of grandkids, add cards they might have saved from you over the years.Call it a memory book. We did that for my dad who turned 80.He was thrilled!

If your crafty you can decorate at little to no cost for a wedding. The craft stores will throw out torn up flowers and such and with a little TLC can be made presentable, especially with a can of spray paint. The dollar stores have fake flowers too. Maybe mom or you have a dress that can be used with a little sprucing of lace or material. Make the cake, more time consuming than anything be creative with frosting, if you can't but the plastic at the hobby store to stack the cake. We used ribbon wrapped PVC glued to cardboard to stack our cake <we had the cardboard and pvc> think of things like that. My friend used cardboard wrapped in foil her cake was square and had mini lights <xmas lights> bought at the dollar store. It was unusual but looked custom expensive. I am going to do it at my dtrs wedding, she loved it. Good luck.

Art picture from your photo. A friend of mine took photo and sent it to http://www.photoartomation.com/ArtWork/anniversary.htm . They convert ordinary photo into wonderful peace of art. I treat it like art because it came from his heart.
