I want to send flowers for a silver anniversary. I'd like to keep it under $30 if possible as I already bought them another gift worth almost $100. I'm in Canada (Ontario) and when I find something nice, the shipping is about $13.99! Can anyone recommend somewhere that wouldn't cost me a bundle just to have it shipped? Thanks. SmileI should add that I don't want something big and fancy . Just something nice to let them know I wish them well (I also know absolutely nothing about flowers!).

Your best bet would be to check the Web Telephone Directory for the town you want to send the flowers to. Check for Florists in that town, call them directly and see what they can do for you. Otherwise $30.00 won't buy much.

There are local florists that might want to make the delivery for you. Look for the closest florist to the address you want to send the flowers to, the florist might even deliver it for you at a discount. Look for the florist here: http://www.a1florists.com; or look for Dundas Florist in Dundas, ON, or Durants Flowers in Chesterville ON and Winchester, ON. Local florists will gladly help you with your flower order, just give them a call.

Yes, calling a florist directly will be your least expensive method...you elimate the middleman, ie FTD. They will charge you a delivery charge, which varies from place to place, but I would guess with the price of gas these days it will run you $5-10. A couple inexpensive flowers are mums and carnations, and daisies. I would suggest you give them a price you want to spend and say that you would like a nice colorful summer arrangement and let them choose the nicest things they have. State that you don't want roses as these are one of the most expensive flowers. Good luck.
