My good friend and her boyfriend just bought a house, and are having a party to celebrate. They are both in their mid-20's, and I'm not really sure what to get them. I'm on a limited budget (around $20-$40). What's something that pretty much anyone would like/ need?

A houseplant is good . Make sure you replant it in a beautiful pot that matches there decore. I am pretty sure that a plant means good fortune or new beginnings. I am not positive but it symbolizes something good

believe it or not, a pizza stone. they are young, so they'll probably eat foods out of a box most often than not. pizza stones are good for homemade pizzas, and frozen pizzas..they come in very handy [[ever try to put a pizza in the oven on a cookie sheet? not working!]]I got one for my bff's wedding shower some 4 years ago, and she still loves it!!other ideas are flatware, dishes, wine glasses/margarita glasses etc. towels/wash clothes, throw rugs, hand towels...if she is doing any themes for a particular room, try to get a few theme items to match..

Go to the grocery store and buy a fruit basket then stop by Wal Mart and purchase a gift card. Guys are awkward to buy for and most of the time feel left out because we buy "girlie" stuff for the house. A gift card is not gender biased and can be used for anything they might need after the party is over.

Just bought a house myself. All my friends and family have been here. Good choices are wine, food (or gift cards for grocery stores), and easy houseplants. Although the wine and plants can be overdone. A neat gift I got was a garden hose and holder. How about candles, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors or a fire extinguisher? (I'm thinkin' emergency kit or something.)

Oh you have a ton of options! If they like to cook, a nice basket full of kitchen gadgets, spices, silicone spatulas, flavored oils, flavored vinegars. If you want to do a "safety" basket; a smoke alarm and/or, a CO2 detector, flashlight and batteries, a first aid kit, a weather radio (battery operated), fire extinguisher are all good ideas and you don't usually notice you don't have them until you need one.A nice bottle of wine and some wine glasses, a basket with a couple kinds of cheese, crackers, fruit.A coffee/tea basket - coffees both flavored and regular, same with the teas. Some nice mugs, a pretty sugar & creamer, a coffee maker (if they don't have one!) a teapot or an electric tea kettle, a mug tree to hang the mugs on, a coffee grinder....
