I had a beautiful Bougainvillea taken from my front porch. It was red, and had fallen to the porch in a rainstorm and the sides of the plastic basket, had sustained cracks in it.. Not enough to make me transplant the flower, but it leaked water out both sides when I watered it. I had been sitting with a neighbor the day before and a man walked up and said, "I gonna bring you some more flowers tomorrow. She looked at me and replied, 'I have enough flowers', no more, her entire yard was filled with beautiful flowers in pots. Now this was not a nice man, and my first thought was these flowers have been taken from some persons porch. Well the next night he got my Bougainvelia, I saw him take it, but it was two in the morning and he might have had a knife on him.So I did nothing. Is there anything I can put on the baskets to prevent them from being taken? I sent letter to the Editor asking if anyone had bought flower/basket that leaked when watered. Thanks, It was a Mothers day gift.

yes wire them tight to what ever your gonna hang them on, and then tie a belle on it, and dont leave a porch light on, that is a magnet for thieves. i had that happen to me, after i put the wire on i never had another one stolen. and turned off my porch light , good luck,

If you happen to see him again write down his license plate number. I'm sorry you lost your Mothers Day gift, but just know that he will get his punishment someday. What comes around goes around.A motion sensor would be a good idea too.
