We have registry store for our baby shower and exersaucer was in it but somebody already bought it. Now lastnite, one of aunt came up to me and said that she bought exersaucer and other toys from yardsale and wanted to bring it over to my place, i nodded and said thank you as I was leaving, now wait a minute...we already have it..so how can i tell her in nice way? The one we already got it, cannot be returned to the store and i assume the one from yardsale also cannot be returned, but she shouldve made sure with me first or checked the registry list before she bought it....so now what can i do?

Just like you answered her "Thank You". Once you get it keep the one you want and give the other one away to another couple that really need it or donate it to the Goodwill. That way you really won't hurt her feelings.

be polite, if there is someplace to donate the X-tra things like to a YMCA or a local childcare they would be happy to have it. I like to have two because I leave one at my Moms house or my In laws house and that way when we go over I don't have to drag it along. A gift is a gift, be thankful you have friends who love you enough to think about your needs, even if they are tight on cash it is sweet.Congratulations.

Keep them both. You can store one at your mom's house or if you have a large house you can keep them in different rooms. Don't sweat it though. If she got it from a yardsale she probably only paid a buck or two. If you really don't want it you can donate it to Goodwill or to a friend.

Donate the used one to a church or consignment shop. Or go to freecycle.com and give it to another mom in need. Good luck and congrats!

Can it be used somewhere else, like grandparents or another relative? We had one that we used at home and one that we used at my moms. That way her feelings aren't hurt. She should have checked with you first, but she was probably excited.

Just take it and thank her and leave it at that. It's nice to have an extra one that you can keep at grandma's house or at the babysitter's or where ever, or you could have one upstairs and one downstairs, or one inside and one outside - you get the picture. If you decide you really don't need it you can sell it on Craigslist or donate it to Goodwill. Congrats on the baby!

Accept the gift curtiously, pop it away cause you'll never know if the first one you got will break.orIf you plan on going to someones house alot, take it to their place to leave so you know your baby will have something to play with when that are there. we were given two highchairs so one just lives at my mums for when she has my daughter or we are their for lunch.

Actually you might find you need the extra one. A couple ladies on my street have more than one. One for outside and one for indoors. Accept graciously and say it might be useful to have another one of these for when you're moving around the house alot, have company, or have a friend who watches the little one regularly when you need a nap.

Leave the extra one at a grandparents home. Then you don't have to transport yours when visiting grandparents. Don't be so hard on your aunt - she was only doing something nice for you and the baby.

You take the stuff....and use it. Seriously, you will find that having double of everything is really the way to go. An exersaucer in the living room, and one in the bathroom for when you take showers. Or, have one at the grandparents house. Also, you don't even know what this one looks like. Some are made for younger babies, and some for older....." but she shouldve made sure with me first or checked the registry list before she bought it...."You wanted her to go to some store, and get a copy of a registry list before she went yard-selling for your child?

You say thank you and be grateful that she was thinking of you. It never hurts to have two of anything- you may need one at your parents house, her day care, etc. And I think it is a bit rude of you to say that you think she should have checked the registry first. She bought them for you out of the kindness of her heart. She is not obligated to buy you anything. Try to remember that next time you're angry with her for doing you a favor.

I actually have 2. I used one upstairs in my house and one downstairs. Then, I had another child and then, each child used one. So, it is up to you. I would hang on to the other one for a few months after the baby is born to see if you need it. And take a look at both exersaucers, you might like one better than the other. Take care.

Generally when you are at a garage sale and you see a bargain you just grab it -you can't go home and check a registry first, and unless she had your # and a cell phone she couldn't call.Chances are she paid very little and understands that you may not need it. But some deals are too good to pass down.On the other hand I received an exersaucer style toy from someone who got it from a neighbour and I didn't *need* it because I had one, but when I saw it I realised how crappy the one I had was.The one from your registry should be returnable. Otherwise take the one that you like less and either leave it at one of the grandparent's houses. Or give it to charity, sell it, or put it on freecycle.
