| Someone gave me a crystal ring holder, which was really nice - now I have a safe place to put my ring when I take it off.A lovely picture frame would also be nice, since they will soon have wedding and baby pictures to display! |

| Traditional gifts are things to get them started on a wedding, planning books, scrapbook, photo albums, things for the house. Things they might need to start on now, like learning to cook. Money and gift cards would especially be welcome. Check out the bookstore, lots of things there, like cookbooks, bridal books and magazines, home decorating and care, even DIY basic things you need to know for a household, like hanging a picture, or filling the hole when you don't like where you hung the picture. . How about a subscription to a bridal magazine? Check out Martha Stewart, she has lots of stuff on entertaining. I have a copy of her stain chart, perhaps she has a book out about caring for a home. Since a baby shower present is in the near future, try again at the bookstore. I bought a beautiful illustrated collection of nursery stories that the recipient Mom had a fit over, she even came back months after the birth and told me she reads one story a night to the baby. The book was not too horribly expensive, I thought it was @ $20 something dollars. Since I was not friends with the Mom, [she was a doctor in our specialty hospital department, we had a friendly professional relationship], I did not dress up the present beyond wrapping it cute. Ideas would have been to find a story in the book that you could find a cute toy to go with it. Or continue with the bedtime theme with a snugly sleeper outfit. |
