| Well. . . . My friend Christina is getting married to Sam, and i am going to her bridal shower. The gifts have to be for the room we were assigned. I got the living room, so i was like i am not going to get her a sofa and love seat. so i decided to make her two personalized pillows. One will say Christina and on the back it will say their wedding date. The second one will say Sam and on the back it will say their wedding date. But i can't find any good designs!!She wants earth tones, so is black an earth tone? I want it elegant, yet modern and contemporary. I was thinking i could use silk jersey. I was thinking of a light tan or off-white. and on the front of the pillows their names could be in black and vertically written, and on the back it would have their wedding date horizontal.* tell me if you think what i was thinking is good? provide some links to pictures of pillows or maybe some fabric, font (for the words) or design suggestions? the shower is on wednesday so hurry and answer. |

And then include the wedding date. Or you could do a saying . . . like the one on this throw . . . | black is a neutral color...so it works with anything. Earth tones could mean green or the brown category. it could even mean like a soft red...not too bright though. I say that the names and date of the wedding should be horizontal. If you were to flip over the pillow they'll probably want to rotate it to where you can read it. |

| Don't go with black! For a good earth tone color choice go with a medium to dark brown. Getting them personalized is cute, but not the best idea. As a shower gift for my wedding, my late wife and I got a gift of a platter that you can hang, it's great, it has our names, last initial, and our wedding date. You can get them a sensible shower gift, of pillows and a throw, and a personal romantic gift for the wedding, or a card saying that the personal part of the gift will come later, and you wanted to give it to her over dinner, or something nice like that. |

| Hello! seems to me you are in a bit of a bond. You can go on line and search for the description of earth tone colors or go to your local paint store. You will get a chance to see how beautiful earth tone colors are. Earth tone colors are my favorite. The colors are usually a burnt orange, rust, olive green, burgundy or maroon. I think that the pillows are okay. Why not try using a nice picture with the colors included with two scones on each side. or you can try finding some nice pictures frames with earth tone colors. are maybe you can try a real nice candle display with all of the colors. The candles with a wonderful aroma would be also special. You can also find a nice floral and vase arrangement with the earth tone colors. I hope that this information is useful. |

| Personally, I think that black would be too extreme. Perhaps you could do a sort of chocolate/dark brown colour instead? There are some links below to the sort of colour I think instead of black. The light tan colour sounds good though.Perhaps you could use a really classy handwriting style for the font like this?: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/20765/20765-h/images/handwriting.pngFor the fabric, it depends on what sofa they have. If they have leather, a silky one would slip about whereas on a material sofa (?) it would not. I think the idea of personalized is a really well thought out one which will be really personal to them. Good luck! |

| Your idea is good but i would suggest just going with the initial for her soon to be last name. The wedding date on the back is cute.To me putting names on pillows and blankets are for little kids but initials are exquisite for adults. |
