| I've never been great at picking out gifts and now I have to do it on my own. What should I get for a Mom, Dad, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, & Grandma? |

| Think about what they like. What do they do in their free time? What are their hobbies? Interests, etc? That's where you start from, favorite things they like to do, things they collect, etc. Then you can go from there.Some other ideas are:BooksDVDs of their favorite TV shows or movies, DVD setsCD sets of their favorite singers or bandsMagazine subscriptions for their favorite mags or ones that match their interestsPerfume and shower gels Candles in scents they would likeHome decor, pictures they can hang up, things they can display, etc.For your parents, if there's a show they've been wanting to go to, a restaurant they like to eat it, get them a gc to go there and dine out. If there's a particular wine or champagne they like, you can do that.If your sister or someone likes movies, put together a movie basket. Get a gc to the movies, and then put in a box of microwave popcorn, some movie candy, etc, and make it a whole gift thing. Or you can get some DVDs and make that the gift with the popcorn and candy with a personalized popcorn bowl.If they enjoy coffee, Keurig has that coffee maker that makes coffee with pods and it takes seconds to make each cup! It makes one cup at a time, you put in the water, the pod, your cup, press the button, and viola! There's your coffee! You can check it out at Linen's and Things and Bed, Bath and Beyond and even Kohl's, and they all sell the pods as well as online. You can also buy a $20 filter to skip the pods and use your own regular coffee. This machine is awesome! Costco has a special that offers the machine, 90 pods and the filter for $129 which is a steal!!Think about clothing, jewelry, maybe earrings for your sister or mom, even aunt. As an aunt I can tell you that I would much rather have the pictures of my niece than her spend a lot of money on me or spend time with her. I'm sure your mom and Aunt and possible your sister and I'm sure Grandma feel the same way! Maybe take them out! Get them a day out with YOU! Take them out to dinner and movie or just dinner and day out doing whatever they would like. I know being in college you don't have much time, but taking each of them out to dinner and giving them a few hours, would mean the world to them! Think about setting something up in a gift where it would be you spending some time with them. You can also ask them if they have their minds on anything, if there's anything that they've thought about that they would like, or if they could think about it and let you know.You could also put together a photo college, get those picture frames that have all the openings, some are all one size and some have different sizes. This is something your grandma would love and put pictures of you and her in it through the years. Leave 2 spots blank, one to write Merry Christmas and the date and one to take a picture the day you give it to her and put that most recent picture in there when it's printed out, so she'll have the most recent picture in there. It is like a scrapbook for her wall, she can hang it wherever she wants and look at it whenever she likes and I'm sure she would love it! You can do pictures of when you were little to now, but make SURE that are pictures of YOU AND HER together in all of them! That's what's going to make it special! That it's just pictures of you and her! Make sure to write that you love her or something special, etc, and she will love that. Your mom may also love something like that.There are also places that you can send in a picture and they turn that picture into an actual oil painting for 100 dollars. You can order one through qvc.com and it's 16x20 in size and has rave reviews, just type in oil painting or picture to painting, etc. that's another gift that's a big hit. Take a picture now with you and your grandma and then send it in and in 6 weeks you'll have a beautiful painting to present to her. You can also give the envelope and her them choose what they would like to send in, I do that with family members, but I think for your grandmother, you can take the picture of you and her and she would love it! hsn.com also does it and I think there's you can order a frame with. If anyone's into sports, get some fan gear, shirts, things for the car, the house, etc, That's always a hit with fans of certain sports. Especially now with the Yankees, Mets, and Cowboys moving stadiums, there are plenty of things you can get.For your sister and cousin you can check into earrings and clothes, maybe a purse, dvds, cds, etc. Maybe a gift card to Sephora if they're into make-up and if they're into their teens and twenties or older, Philosophy bath kits are always a hit! They smell awesome and I use them and give them out and NEVER go wrong,with them, everyone loves them! | I've been saving up to get my mom the wii fit, but I can't find it anywhere now that i've got the money for it. if i can't find it by november then im going t ask her what she would like besides that. I'm getting my dad probably a watch or a wallet, im getting my brother a watch or a wallet or maybe a gift card to circuit city cuz he's hard to shop for. You should probably get your sister something from bath and body works....that's what i told my brother he could get me. I'm getting my favorate cousin a scrapbook kit cuz she wants to start scrapbooking. And for anybody else im going to just give cards to cuz i don't have money to get thme anything. i may just make them cookies or something. |
