Has anyone had trouble with Simon gift cards not working at stores other than the mall?

I had an unused Simon gift card that I tried using recently at Toys-R-Us. The cashier tried ringing up the card as "credit," but it wouldn't work. My mom complained to me today that the very same thing happened to her, only it was at Wal-mart. Simon advertises these cards that we can use them "anywhere Visa is accepted." But I'm finding that's not true. Any insight? Like a mall near me is a Smion mall but the one down the street isn't so i can only use it at the first one. Back to top
