My dad really isn't a typical dad. He's a farmer, and works at a hardware store. He always wears overalls, and my mother makes all his shirts for him. I always have trouble getting him stuff for his birthday. It's on May 25th, and I still dunno what on earth he would like. He likes poker, but when i got him an electronic poker game he never touched it. What can I get him??He'd never let me pay for anything. It'd probably insult him. And my mother already got him a poker board and they have plenty of cards and chips.

pay a bill for him, the electric or the water bill, or, maybe even the phone bill. your dad is a hardworking man, a simple man, he doesn't go for fancy doo-dads. put your gift money to work for him, this he will appreciate. bless his heart. there are not many like him anymore!

A poker set with Chips, Cards, and a proffesional board. Also, maybe a book with hints on how to play better, and how to bluff. My dad is also into poker, and he is difficult to buy for, and we got him a set like that-- he loved it.Good luck.

Your Dad sounds like a real down-to-earth kind've guy. (No frills) How about something that he can use around the farm? Like new boots? My aunts all worked on a farm, and they ALWAYS needed new boots. Or a new hat (baseball hat maybe?) Is there something that he uses all the time, but is getting old and worn out? Like something for his car/truck?

how about a couple of pairs of new overalls? a pair for the summer and a pair for the winter.also a couple of pair of leather gloves, one for winter and one for summer. a good folding knife or switch blade. (not the cheap kind) safety glasses or safety sunglasses (they have both now) a good hat for the sun ( cowboy hat or wide brimmed straw hat) fishing gear and accesories. i ll bet he could use a good pair of binoculars for his farm. some work shoes or steel toe'd boots might help. he might like an mp3 player loaded with his favorite music to listen to while he does his chores or ploughing the fields. a mag-lite flash lite might help
