How can I phrase a baby shower invite for mom-2-be that only wants gift cards? (without sounding tacky)?

| To reduce the stress of gettign too much of one thing and not enough of another the mom 2 be is asking that if you chose to give a gift that it be a giftcard to (whatever store)thank you very muchAnd to everyone who thinks it's rude an pointless.. it reduces thefights over who wants to buy you what, you dotn have to worry about not having the one hting you need. YOU WONT Get SIX DIAPER BAGS and most importantly of all if you wont be stuck with no clothes fo rthe baby because the baby is bigger or smaller than the clothes you got. AS appreciative as i was I got 0-3 months clothes that my daughter was too small for...I spent the first week of her life trying to find her clothes.....and my neighbor just had a 10 lb baby.....0-3 months is only 5-11 lbs...what good would that have done them if all their babies clothes were only to 11lbs???it's not abbout how happy you are that people liek what you bought for the baby. it's about the baby havign what it needs |

| Sorry, you cannot possibly word that in any way that wouldn't come off as tacky or rude!! You could always tell guests that call asking about the registry that mom prefers gift cards....however, part of the fun of a shower is watchign momma open up all those itty bitty pajamas and booties and accesories!!Tell the Mom To Be that she needs to register for what she wants....and hope for the best!! No one HAS to give her anything and she should really just, kind of, be grateful for what it is she DOES get, you know? |
