This would be a great idea for you to give her a gift, make it something memorable that you both can enjoy. It can be as simple as giving her something she mentioned she always wanted as a girl but never got, a toy for example.....hope you did your home work with her, you'll come up with something.

The practice is definitely NOT out of date.If you are a man, get her jewelry, I think thats the normal gift for brides from their grooms, maybe a nice bracelet or a pretty ring for her right hand or the "Big One" a pair of diamond earrings. If you are a woman think of his hobbies, is he ino sports, then tickets to a game, a fisherman, a new rod and reel, a preppy a nice watch. Think about things he enjoys and shop with that in mind. A big mistake women make is shoping for what they WANT their men to like, dont do this, shop for him.

I gave my husband a pocket watch with "(Our wedding date) 8-4ever Until the end of time" engraved on it. He loved it, even though he doesn't carry it, except for special occasions, he takes it out and looks at it all the time. I also gave him a pair of boxer shorts, as a joke, with his nickname and our wedding date embroidered on them. He wears them on our anniversaries, as a joke, his version of lingere!
