|
|
| It is for the daughter of my best friend of about five years...I love their whole family and we would do anything for each other, etc...just great friends right...however, it is my son and her son who brought us together as friends...they are the same age, go to the same school, play the same sports, etc...and we now live about a mile apart...my point is, that although I love the whole family, the daughter and I are not as close because we just rarely see each other (I spend lots of time with friend and her son/my son, etc)...but daughter is usually not in the picture much due to our schedules and her being with friends, etc...I love her though, because she is my best friend's daughter...she is graduating high school and has been accepted to a great university...I think I will give her $$ because it just seems to be what most kids need and want these days...question is how much is appropriate in this situation...thanks! |

| I usually give $50. (I get about 6 announcements every year.) The only exception is my nieces and nephews...I give them $200 each. |

| Anything above 50 dollars is a good amount. It depends on how much you are willing to pay. Honestly, i would try for 75. good luck, and congrats to her ! |

| money is good if she had bills or was firm about what she would buy with the money. if you believe she is, that is good. also you could pass on some sort of tradition type thing like from your family to hers. if it's not that type of relationship and you don't want it to be, stick to the money. i still say give her something else, though. |

| I think $50 is appropriate for you. This is your best friends daughter so you are obviously obligated to get something. Since you aren't close with the daughter and probably have no idea what she likes then money is probably the best thing to give.I just graduated college and $50 seems to be the standard from people that I have known for a long time through my parents, but have never really been close with. |

| $20-$50 is a good range. Anything is nice. It's a kind gesture and any amount will surely be appreciated. |

| for my graduation i received between 50 to 100 dollars a person. its good for books, but another really good idea that i am giving my friends that are grad highschool a year after me is a college survival pack. i went to dollar tree so its cheap and cute, but i bought highlighters and put a saying on it "to highlight the important things in life" and white out "for your little mistakes" chocolate for that rough week, ibprophen for those early mornings and energy drink for those late night....it was the hit of the parties and the thing is, that its acutally useful! it was such am amazing gift, everyone loved it! just a cute little idea to make it feel a little more personal thatn money but cheap enough to add to the money for school! |
