Expect nothing and be happy with what you get. People don't have to give you anything.

It really does depend upon a lot of things. Did you register at a store (or several?) and did you get everything from those registries? If not, expect people to give you gifts too, not everyone will give money. Are you young and most of your friends young as well? Many of them may not have enough to give you what some might think is a proper amount of money, so they'll opt for a cheaper gift as well. Did most of your guests go to your shower? Many people feel that giving one gift throughout the process of engagment/marriage is enough, so you may not recieve anything but well wishes from some people. Are you super close with every guest or are some distant relatives and friends of friends who random relatives insisted be invited? The closer they are, the more they'll tend to spend, so your great great uncle twice removed will probably not give you the same as your 1st cousin who you had countless sleepovers with as a child. Sorry that isn't more help, but it really does depend on so many things that I don't want to venture a guess.

Umm...it's a wedding, not a fundraiser. Whatever your guests give you, remember that they didn't have to. Be thankful you get anything.

who cares...the point of the wedding is to get married. if your that worried about money then dont get married and spend what you have. how do you even have time to think about that when your planning a wedding. how selfish are you! I hope nobody gives you anything. spoiled little brat!

Depends, most of my gifts were money. Many people try to cover the cost of there plates, many do not. The average gift was less than the cost of the dinner. I had a smaller wedding, the close the relationship the larger the gift in general. I didn't actually count how much money I got. So this is just a guestimate. Only got one or 2 gift from people who attended, I purposely didn't register.

I fed my 120 guests extravagant dinner & hors devours at the a luxurious resort, but if your guests are as cheap as mine you'd get about USD$2,000. It's all good though- wasn't expecting to get any money back actually, but I hear so many stories about people getting married and actually got their money back from monetary gifts.

HELLO, CONGRATULATIONS FIRST OF ALL!! MY HUSBAND AND I GOT MARRIED LAST YEAR, WE PAID FOR OUR OWN WEDDING, SO I UNDERSTAND THAT IT CAN BE A BIT OVERWHELMING. WE DIDN'T WANT ANY GIFTS OR MONEY WE JUST WANTED OUR LOVED ONES TO SHOW UP. REGARDLESS OF WHAT WE WANTED OR NOT WE ENDED UP GETTING ABOUT $3,000.00 IN CASH AND $800.00 IN GIFT CARDS PLUS A LOT OF GREAT GIFTS. WE HAD 150 GUEST NOT ALL OF THEM BROUGHT GIFTS BUT WE WERE JUST HAPPY THEY MADE IT TO OUR SPECIAL DAY.

well at my mom wedding anniversary she got an average of 50-75 from each guest. And thats including the people who sponsored. In our heritage people sponser something of the wedding. Example: the hall, food, drinks, flowers, the rosary or whatever idk. all that good stuff. So yeah the people who did that all gave at least 50.00. To get more money tell a really close relative or friend to start pinning money to your dress! my greek cousin did this at her wedding and she got 600.00!!!!!! oh yeah! lol
