2) Do you drive them to the grocery store?3) Do you take them for a short Sun afternoon ride?4) Do you visit them at least once a week?5) Do you take them a book, or flowers or small gift just because you care?6) Do you really listen to their stories?7) Do you know a neighbor, elderly person that has no one?Guess I am in a thinking mood this morning. There are so many lonely, elderly ones out there that have no one or we are too busy in our daily lives to really listen to them. You would be surprised at what you'll learn about history or fun times of their years of growing up. You'll find yourself enjoying it more and more.

I always loved the ederly. Even at a young age, some of my best friends were elderly. You are right, you learn a lot and I always have fun. Once a month I go and visit and elderly home where my grandfather last years were, even though he passed away 2 years ago, I still visit his old friends. I bring them there favorites foods, and we just talk about anything, about the past, and what is going on today. Even when they are elderly many still keep up with what is going on with the world today. I always feel good after I leave.

When my father was in a nursing home and dying, I went almost every day for 90 days (I just missed 2 days) I would get there when my daughter got on her bus at 8 am, and then I would stay until 2 to get home in time for her. Then, when my husband came home at nite, I would go back to say goodnite. There are times I would help the other residents by pushing them around in their wheelchairs and for those who stayed in bed, I would help them drink their water. I also complimented them and made them laugh. I will never forget that experience. You know, you can always visit any nursing home to visit anyone, even if you don't know them. They so appreciate this. One time I just stopped by a nursing home and said hi to all the residents in the hallway.

Yes, she is a friend from church. One of my best friends in fact. she is 80 years old and we shop together, go for a bite to eat, visit. Recently she fell and I went and helped her and visited with her. I love her very much.

I take care of my parents and have been doing so for the last 5 years or so, I also have a few friends who are doing the same. It is tough sometimes especially when you are trying to date. People that are not in this situation yet dont understand. But its something you have to do.
