They don't have a wedding gift registry and is on her way to move into a new house. I'm thinking cash or maybe a nice vase or Picture.

If you have any pics of the both of you, put it into a collage (sp?) for her/him....have it framed...I would also give cash to help out w/ the new home...

the most creative gift to give her is if you knew her well, you should create a really nice collage of your childhood memories. a keepsake

I like the Home Depot gift card idea the best. I generally don't like to give cash--I'll give a gift card, but not cash. Another suggestion would be a gift card to their favorite restaurant.

A picture would be nice. A picture or collage of maybe older pictures from her childhood would be great too, and it would come from the heart.

I would say money or a gift certificate to a home improvement store. They are going to get so many gifts like vases, and just basically stuff they don't need and will probably return. They're making a mistake by not registering. So stick with the safe option of money of a GC. She would probably appreciate a GC to Home Depot or something so she could get a couple gallons of paint for their nice new house.

Ask them what they'd like. Better than making the kind of mistake where your friend will wonder if she really knows you!

Give them something with memories. When a good friend got married, we took photos at the wedding and made them into coasters. The kit cost about $20 but the beautiful tile coasters (found at Archivers) with their photos on them are priceless. You'd have thought we'd given them a winning lottery ticket.

A childhood friend? Someone who means the world to you? I would put some EFFORT into your gift...maybe make a collage from your childhood or buy something that MEANS something instead of giving some generic gift to someone you've known for ever...

Well I got married last year, and one of our favorite things to recieve was money. We had gotten so much other house stuff and all, we needed more money to help with all the things we hadn't or weren't gong to receive. I still have tons of gift cards I have yet to use, so I recommend money more than those, then they can get what they want where they want!
