does anyone know of a gift card that people can add credit to. I want to put it as an option for my wedding gift. It would be ideal if people could just go online and pay $20,$30,$50 with their credit card, and that amount gets added to a gift card that I can then use (amex card, for example).

Its considered kind of rude to do that because you are basically asking for money. If you end up getting many cards to one store they will almost always let you consolidate the amount onto one. Don't risk offending your guests, just wait until after the wedding and then consolidate them.

Yeah. Don't do it.If people want to give you cash, they will give you cash. They know how to do it. They will go to a card store, purchase a card, then place money or a check inside.Even if you find a place to do it, I wouldn't for these two reasons:1) they will charge a 20% service charge. Your aunt pays $50, but you will only receive $40.2) Asking for money will make you look bad. REALLY bad. So bad, in fact, that if you had thought of it, you would have never posted this question on Yahoo. Asking for money makes you look greedy or impoverished, and definately like you are trying to manage your guests. People don't like to be managed, and they will assume really bad things about your personality and upbringing.

I've worked in retail, and those prepaid credit cards are an INCREDIBLY hassle. You're better off just dealing with cash rather than those cards...they often times don't register in the system and you always need to know exactly how much money is on them.

Sure. It'll be great with the Money Tree, No Boxed gifts, Cash Bar and Dollar Dance.
