I have to go to a high school graduation party tomorrow for a wealthy cousin of mine who I dont know much about...do I give her money? Or just a card? Help! Thanks all!

you should give her a nice card and one of those lame graduation stuffed bears and balloon. you can't go wrong with that and it's a nice gesture.

If the cousin is wealthy, I wouldn't give money. IMHO, money is a good gift for a graduate who is about to go out on his or her own as an adult for the first time and needs the funds to get going... it's a bit different if this person has plenty of money.I like the suggestion to have the card and token gift. You could also give a picture frame, or if the cousin is going off to college, something like a mug or a sweatshirt from their new school. Incoming freshmen like things like that.

I'd say it depends on your age. If you're 18 or younger, you can still get away with a "family gift" from your parents (as long as they list your name on the card).If you're older, then yeah I'd definitely give a card. If possible I'd also give like $20. If you're like 30 and have a good job, then try to give a little more.Ideally it is the thought that counts, and you're going to show up, so yay for you, but it does look a little cheap if you only give a card when you could have given a gift.
