What would a boy who is entering high school like as a graduation gift? I'd like to spend around $30.

Usually, I don't give Junior High graduates a gift, as it's sort of expected that they'll pass. But if you feel the need, then what I would do is get them an Almanac, an Atlas, a High School Dictionary (If you can find one for under thirty dollars), or a popular book done in studies at you high school. That way you're giving him a useful resource for his future high school years. And if none of this is your style, a simple congratulations card and five dollars should be fine.

Gift certificates to their favorite stores. Entering high school is a big change, and they will want to look their best.

Believe it or not, some people give the book called "Oh, the Places we could go" by Dr. Suess. They give this even to Seniors in high school. Otherwise a gift certificate or cash would work best.
