I recently had my eyebrows waxed at a near by nail salon. The technician burned my skin and as a result an inch long scar has appeared. It is very noticeable and it has been two days now. I have been waxing my eyebrows for about ten years without any problems whatsoever. I spoke to the manager at the salon and a gift certificate towards another eyebrow waxing is the best they can do. Any insight would be highly appreciated.

That happened to me once, ouch did that hurt! The peeled the skin right off my eyes. The skin around the eyes is very very sensitive. I suggest you don't get your eyebrows done there again. Maybe use the gift certificate towards waxing your legs or a manicure/pedicure.It took my skin about 10 days to heal (I'm very fair). If your skin is darker you might be all healed up in under a week. What you could do (which I didn't know at the time) is to buy some aloe vera gel, NOT cream, get the gel and make sure it is as pure aloe as possible, preferable 100% (the creams usually only contain 4 to 15% aloe in them).Put the gel around the burned area, repeat often during the day. That makes the healing process go faster and you will not have any scarring afterwards. If the healing process has started (it probably has), keept putting aloe vera on the area anyhow.I hope you get better soon.p.s. I found really good aloe vera at Wal-Mart in the pharmacy section close to the suntan lotions and sunscreen. I got the large jar for under $6.00. It works great for sunburn, kitchen burns too.

The best thing for a burn is to immediately put ice on it - it hurts a lot when you do it but much less in the long run as the burn, if it's not too severe, won't blister & scar. It's too late for that, but I'd try aloe to see if it will ease the pain and reduce the scarring. I keep several aloe plants in the house year round for burns & bug bites.
