Whilst 30 years is great, it's nothing special.Wait until their 50th, then buy them something nice.

depends on who they are to you, i do not agree that 30 is nothing speciall, how many couple do you know actually have made it past 10... a small give is very appropriate,,,

You should definately get them a gift. Staying married is a big deal these days! By the way,the traditional gift for a 30th anniversary is pearls, and the modern gift is diamonds.

If they are having a anniversary party or dinner, a gift is nice; otherwise, just a card. Unless you're particularly close to them and have a really cute idea for some 30-year scrapbook or video montage or something. But by no means it is expected, etiquette-wise.

Buy them something small that they can enjoy together on their special day - maybe a picnic basket with a nice bottle of wine, or a gift card to a local restaurant, or another great gift is movie gift certificates. If you really want to splurge, maybe buy them a day at the spa for two. Giving them something that they can do is the most important thing, regardless of how much or little you spend

Only if they are having an anniversary party that you are invited to . Otherwise just a card is appropriate.

It's hard to buy gifts that they might like. It's best to give them a card plus a bottle of wine.
