| gave a Mall gift certificate for a son and it was return hoping to another trade off to another store. I cannot return this. What can I do or what should I do. Help....I ask what he wanted and got replied I should have asked first before getting anything... |

| Seeing the mall won't do anything....there isn't really anything you can do. The mall i get ones from is valid at any store in the mall...sounds like yours is not. Maybe just spend it yourself and get something different for your son. |

| perhaps you should get him etiquette lessons instead... how rude and ungrateful... tell him you are sorry and that it is not returnable... there are plenty of nice stores at the mall.... the idea of a gift is that a kind person spends time and money to purchase it for someone else... gifts are not mandatory nor is it ever acceptable to tell someone what they should get you.. nor must you 'check in' with them before buying it.... |

| Oh my goodness, cannot believe how many anwerers misunderstood this question...You GAVE a giftcard and they want you to return it???? Shame on them! They should just say THANK YOU, and spend it however they see fit. My goodness! |

| To return a gift to the sender and ask them to exchange it for something else is just plain rude. If he was not happy with what he got and gave it back to you, than keep the gift card and use it yourself. Sounds like the son is spoiled and needs a lesson in manners. |

| Spend it yourself and don't get him a replacement gift. He was rude to do that to you. I have been given presents I would never use in the past, but I secretly gave them to Goodwill, so no-one knew and no-one felt hurt. |
