| if someone gave me money should i say thanks for the cash or thanks for the gift in a thank your card?i am writing thank you cards, just wondering how to say thanks for cash lol, dunno wether to say thanks for the money or thanks for the gift |

| It's best to get the note out relatively soon, in my opinion. So, if you've already bought something, thank them for what you bought. If you have a plan for what you'll buy, tell them, "The money will really help me to buy my new xyz." If you have no idea yet, thank them for their generosity & tell them you'll put it into savings for something you'll really appreciate, at a later time. |

| Saying 'thanks for the gift' in a thank-you card sounds best and is a little more polite. |
