You should give your sister and her groom the gift certificate and do not listen to what his mother says or thinks about it. That is a very nice gift. Yes I would enjoy the gift myself.

As a bride, no. And, as a mom, I wouldn't be leaving my child.

That isn't intrusive, I think it's very sweet & thoughtful considering they aren't going on a honeymoon for you to have set up a newlywed night for them.

I would love that as a gift. I don't think that is too intrusive. If someone paid for a night to a resort for me, and my mom would babysit. I'd be packed and gone in a heartbeat! Way to think out of the box!

This sounds AWESOME. My sister and brother in law have 4 children, and anytime I babysit them, they leave town for the night-somewhere close if there is an emergency. You are very nice to get them this present!

I think that is so gracious of you and I feel it is very appropriate. Your sister and her husband will love your gift and will enjoy their honeymoon night. It is not intrusive at all. Use your own judgement, as your sister is part of this wedding too, so go with your idea and don't consult anyone else. Too many cooks spoil the soup if you know what I mean.

I think that gift idea is great under the circumstances of a child being at home, it will give them at least one night of privacy and care free conditions, which would be good for both of them. Just give them what you think they would enjoy and do not bother asking anyone if it would be too instrusive or not. The resort would be much better than a one night stand at some motel.
