I would like to get my fiance some cigars for a wedding gift. What are some people opinions on good ones to get? Also, where are they purchased? Thanks!Just so you all know, there is no cigar section...that's why the question in here... yahoo answers directed me to this section. Smile

What does your fiance like? In general, the fuller bodied ones are generally the ones that are longer and thicker., and take longer to smoke. The smaller ones (by ring gauge) are usually lighter in taste. If you're in the US, you can't get Cuban ones, so that's out of the discussion - though the best Cuban ones are the Cohiba, Upmann, Partagas, Romeo Y Julieta. Many Cuban named cigars though are made in the Dominican Republic. Some brands to consider include Davidoff, Macanudo, Montecruz, Henry Clay, etc. Check out Cigar Aficinado magazine for some references. I would suggest you buy them at a reputable smoke shop.

First of all.....! Does he like cigars? Secondly...! Does he know the difference between smoking a good cigar from smoking a rope? Smoke shops usually have a sampler of 4 to10 cigars, in a box. I prefer 'Arturo Fuentes' brand. There are many...and I mean, many styles and types that range from full flavored to mild. Buy him a sampler of 'JR',or 'Arturo Fuentes', or 'Jose Gener', and last but not least, a N.A.T.S.A. Churchill sampler. The cigars that come from Nicaragua and areas nearby, are usually Cuban seed. They grow that seed in that part of the country. It is also legal to purchase these types in America as opposed to the so called 'real' Cuban cigar, which again, is the same seed, just grown in another country.

What kind of cigars does he prefer to smoke? If he hasn't told you, ask one of his buddies what he might like to smoke.
