I don't really want to do gift certificates. And I can't do movies because I don't know which movies they have. But what are some good gifts for an entire family (mom, dad, kids)?

I've found that a fruit basket (fairly inexpensive from the grocery store) or a meat/cheese/etc. tray (usually bought from a speciality store--but some good prices are to be had from catalog shopping) fit the bill perfectly. These always look nice without any work on your part. I've done it for family, friends, and even for people when they've lost loved ones.

Food makes a nice gift.Think about sending a big box of treats from a place such as Hickory Farms, which has combination meat/cracker/cheese/fruit gifts. http://www.hickoryfarms.comA similar place to shop for such items is Harry and David--they are known for their fruit. http://www.harryanddavid.comPopcorn Factory is more junk-food oriented, but they have cute gift packages: http://www.popcornfactory.com

Go to Blockbuster and buy a popcorn bucket, it has a microwave popcorn bag in the bottom of it. Fill it with candy and a store gift card to rent movies. Wrap it in cellophane and tie a nice Christmas bow on top
