That depends on how close you are to the person who you are giving the gift to. If it was a close family friend or a family member then I would give $150-$200. If it was an acquaintance then I would give them $75 -$100.

It honostly depends if your a close relative or you know the person really well,i would say that 100$ is a nice amount, but 150$ is from a close relative.

I disagree. Those monetary suggestions are insane. Graduates shouldn't EXPECT anything for completing college, because they should be doing it for their own good.That being said, I appreciated anything that I was given personally. I'd say that the average gift was about $40. My grandparents gave far more, as did my uncles and aunts. But, for family friends and such, I didn't expect nearly that treatment, and as I said, I mostly received between $20 and $50 dollars, as those are single bills that are easy to send.

From the parents, perhaps a few hundred dollars, from relatives or family friends, around $50-$100.
