our daughter is already married,(4months) by the time the big day arrives....she is out of country)the grooms parents are having a reaffirmation ceremony Dec 1st....My husband is out of country and has tried but cant possibly make it back in time....we need ideas for an amazing ,meaningful wedding gift, since we wont be able to attend, since this is such shortnotice ...I really need ideas for a special gift...Hubby is thinking of real pearls...but since we have no idea of her gown,etc..and their wont be time if I do see her planned attire that day......any ideas???? (its hard for a mom to miss this day) I have the grooms parents address I want to have it mailed there the week of.......and also...what is proper for the parents of the bride to get on the gift registries?

does she travel often, or is this a one-time thing? if she's a real jet-setter, get her some new quality luggage she can use to come visit you sometime!real pearls ARE beautiful, and even if they don't go with her dress she will still treasure and enjoy them.aside from that, figure out what would mean the most to her comming from you, or what would make sense. my mom got me 4 sets of my china with a note that said "i'm not going to tell you to do my dishes anymore, now you have your own" because it was my least favorite chore as a kid.

This is something I found when my mother got re-married after 22 years. She loves it. Try this websitehttp://www.chimesofyourlife.com/Weddingwindchimes.htmlThis company sells wind chimes that you can have inscribed with your feelings, blessings, and love. They have a great selection of sizes, colors, wind sail shapes, and they even give you examples of things to say if you cant think of something. Check out their illustration to, I guarantee your gift definitely come from the heart and will always be remembered.

Since your husband can not make it back in time you should go to your daughter's ceremony without your husband. You and your daughter can go shopping together and if she sees something that she thinks would be nice for the house you can buy it for her.

I do agree with the previous posts, the best gift would be for you to be there w/out your husband. Something meaningful would be nice, maybe something you wore when you got married. Jewelry, make the ring bearer pillow out of your dress or your mother's lace. I'm a very sentimental person and when someone gives me something that's touching you'll cherish it.
